Let me tell you about 2M FANTUNES. I know, you are going to tell me : "what's the connection with developpments after opening one in a major".

2M FANTUNES is incorporated in the MAJEURE SECURISEE.

As part of MAJEURE SECURISEE, if the opening of one in a major is minimum (less than 14 HCP) then the hand contains a major two-suiter or  is balanced.

A few hands to see the important inferences of not having opened a 2M FANTUNES.

N°1 : AJ9862 K2
AKJ 54

After the sequence : 1♠.....1NT you rebid 2 . Since you have 6 and not 4 you have 14+ HCP. So no need to jump.

N°2 : AQ962 K10
AQ65 52

After the sequence : 1♠.....1NT you rebid 2. With 5-4m-2-2 (11-13 HCP)  you pass on 1NT. So you have 14+ HCP.

N°3 : AQJ62 Q62
8 AKJ4

After the sequence : 1♠.....1NT you rebid 2. For the same reason as above it promises 14+ HCP.

A few hands to discover 2 GAZZILLI and see the inferences of not having opened a 2M FANTUNES.

N°4 : QJ962 AK2
AQ8 95

After the sequence : 1♠.....1NT you rebid 2. Don't open that hand of 1NT (follow this link 1NT?).

Don't rebid 2NT, if partner is weak you'll be too high. We'll see that 2NT is reserved for much more structured hands.

2 is  a GAZZILLI bid. It can be natural (deal N°3), it can be balanced 15-19 HCP (this deal), but it may contain strong hands which are not suited for 2NT or a jump which are more structured hands 6-4+, 5-5. In each case it promises 14+ HCP due the fact it was not opened a 2M FANTUNES.

N°5 : AKQJ96 KQ106
8 54

After the sequence : 1♠.....1NT you rebid 2NT. Don't rebid 2, you have too much playing tricks. 2NT promises a very solid 6+cards major(0-1 loser facing a shortage).

N°6 : AQJ96 AKJ106
86 5

After the sequence : 1♠.....1NT you rebid 2  GAZZILLI . Don't rebid 2, you have too much playing tricks.

You will rebid 3 whatever happens.

N°7 : AQJ96 AQ
AK965 5

After the sequence : 1♠.....1NT you rebid 3. It's just a STANDARD bid.

But with lesser shape you'ld bid 2  GAZZILLI and  rebid 3 whatever happens.

No examples of 1 opening. You have less inferences from not having open a 2M FANTUNES. You may be overcalled by 1♠, you have not the problem ot the 4-4 fit in , but you still have the 2  GAZZILLI and the 1 raise structure.

A last hand to discover the 2/1 game forcing.

N°8 : K98654 AK8
AJ 54

After the sequence : 1♠.....2 playing STANDARD you rebid 2♠ and you pray that partner does not pass. But have you a different bid to propose.

When playing MAJEURE SÉCURISÉE, you too rebid 2 but this time the auction shows 14+ HCP, it is game forcing. Why this ?

First, you must know that  2 shows 5+ cards. If opener has 4+ hearts, he bids a quite natural 2 . Without 4 hearts and with a minimum opening,  he his necesseraly   5-3-3-2 ou 5-4m-2-2 else he would have opened a 2 FANTUNES. In that case he rebids 2NT without a diamond support  and 3 with 3(4) cards support. These two bids contrary to the STANDARD, are minimum. And then the  2 rebid contains the hands of 14+ HCP and is game forcing not enough structured for a bid at the 3-level.

Sure you improve the hand presented in example (and other cases : follow  1   2... et 1    2...)

But that's not all... When bidding 2 you create a situation 2/1 game forcing with all the attached advantages. Your bidding denies a two-suiter of 10+ cards. And the responder can also propose 2NT = RELAY with a hand of lesser shape or announce at the 3-level a two-suiter of 10+ cards or a one-suiter of 6+ cards.

For more details, because there is still a lot of work :

1, 1 raise structure in MAJEURE SECURISEE

A few hands to see that there's not only security but also aggressiveness in the system.

N°1 : 98 K982
Q654 542

On  1 opening you raise to 3. It's a maximum for this bid!

N°2 : 98 K982
A654 542

On  1 opening you raise to 2NT = 6-11 HCP, 4+ cards support (no 4-3-3-3).

N°3 : 982 K982
A654 54

On  1 opening you raise to 2 = 6-8 DH, 3 cards support (or 4M-3-3-3).

N°4 : 982 K982
AQ54 54

On  1 opening you bid 2♣ SAUVET = either STANDARD 11+ HCP, 3+

or 9+ DH with a 3 cards support. Could have a 4+ cards support when too strong for a 2NT raise or 4M-3-3-3.

N°5 : J108 82
AQ54 KJ102

On  1 opening you bid 2♣ SAUVET.  As you can see in hand N° 4 and N° 5 you only need to know the opener's strenght.

If opener is minimum he bids 2 = major two-suiter or 2 = 5-3-3-2 or 5-4m-2-2 as the hand was not opened 2 FANTUNES.

So you can stop to 2 with hand N°5 (opener has just responded to the game try you should have made in STANDARD system).

If opener is not minimum he bids 2 (14-16 HCP nothing to do with diamonds), you rebid now 2 (9-11 DH) with hand N° 4 and you conclude to 4 (hand N°5), another bid would be game forcing.
